The highlights of Heavens Heroes through ThankYou-FDNY.com and ThankYou-NYPD.com include: We are the first to create and implement this Heroes program without profit or personal gain. We will not ask for nor solicit money for survivors or their families. That is not our purpose. We will include memorials to those who have risen from our midst and invite all to send us the information they wished published. We will include stories of individuals who went above and beyond the call of duty. We will provide a chat room for those of us who wish to talk to other families in mourning or having a need to share something in common. We will provide living experience stories and testimonies of individuals. We will seek to encourage those people who have been helped by firemen or policemen or any of the services to come forth and tell their stories. We will provide information about counseling services available. We will provide a list of agencies that are assisting in the financial help of those families who have lost loved ones. We will provide a list of religious leaders and church groups through our area who can assist people in their spiritual needs. We will provide counseling agencies for young children who have lost loved ones or are in need of assistance or special services. We will accept photographs and pictures of loved ones missed and put them on the web site. We will create a special poetry anthology section will invite those who are so inclined to share their meaningful words with others. We will provide a listing of telephone numbers, e-mails and telefax numbers to financial support agencies. We will have a special section for the words and comments of children. Those special young people who might need to express their feelings as part of their own healing process. God knows that children are the most effected. We will seek to arrange through a greeting card company, for anyone to send a E-greeting to a loved one. We will provide a prayer section for spiritual expression. We will create a Cyber-Wall Memorial, similar to the Vietnam wall, where a name and date can be placed as a permanent memorial. |
